The MCLNR2020K12 is a right-hand external turning tool holder for ISO CNMG1204 negative carbide inserts. It is designed for external turning, facing and general profiling on CNC lathes and conventional turning machines where rigidity and secure insert clamping are important. The 20×20 mm square shank provides stable support in standard tool posts and turrets, while the MCLNR multi-lock style clamping system uses top clamping with insert seating support to help keep the CNMG insert firmly positioned during medium to heavy cuts. The holder uses 80° rhombic negative inserts, commonly selected for strong cutting edges, reliable chip control and economical use of multiple cutting edges. With a 95° approach angle, it is suitable for machining shoulders, straight turning and facing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron and general engineering materials, depending on the selected insert grade and chipbreaker. The cutting data below are recommended starting ranges for suitable CNMG1204 carbide inserts and should be adjusted to machine rigidity, coolant, insert grade and workpiece condition.
